Cooper's Garden and Fountain Project

 The original courtyard was built around the new sanctuary in 1966.  It included the boxwood surroundings and the fountain as a center piece.  Over the years, many pictures and activities took place within the courtyard. 

More recently, the fountain became unusable, and with this centerpiece not working, the courtyard lost much of its beauty and pageantry.  The area has been rarely used over the last couple years. 

Cooper would often ask "why doesn't the fountain work?"  when we would stroll through the area during church. 

One of our first commitments as a gift back to the church for he support and care they gave to Cooper was to bring this area back to life. 

With the support of the family of Major Frank Wright (for whom the fountain was originally dedicated for in 1966), we were able to work together to bring the area back to life, as you will see from the photographs taken. 

We are happy to report that the new courtyard includes a fully functional and self contained fountain, and surrounded by the new flowering areas, trees, and bushes to compliment.

We are very excited to see and hear of families which now use the area for family pictures, functions, or simply for solitude.

Ongoing efforts for the courtyard will be ever present to make sure we continue to enjoy this beautiful area for years to come.  We are committed to managing the area, including spring and fall planting seasons to keep the gardens fresh and current.  We would like to thank the Church Garden Committee for their time, consideration, and ideas which will be the driving force in keeping the area up to the standard set many years ago, by the original courtyard committee.
